Dr. Scanlon has a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. She has over 20 years of experience in the counseling field both as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and as a Certified School Counselor. She has worked in high schools, community counseling agencies, a college counseling center, and in her own private practice. In addition, Dr. Scanlon is an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). She is a Past President of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association (PCA) and Past Chair of the North Atlantic Region (NAR) of the American Counseling Association (ACA).
Dr. Scanlon’s areas of research interest include supervision of counselors in training, professional counseling advocacy, and professional counselor wellness. She has presented on these topics at regional and national conferences.
