Dr. Kristie Abbs is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with clinical experience in mental health, education, applied behavior analysis, and healthcare. She has been working in the social work field for over 18 years. Dr. Abbs received her DSW from Capella University. She has taught social work and sociology courses over the past few years and developed online social work courses at the college level. At Walden University, she teaches in the MSW program.

Dr. Abbs is passionate about the success of students and serves on a student success committee. She has worked in schools and has interests in transforming student behaviors to meet their needs throughout their lives.

Dr. Abbs is an active volunteer in the community involved in youth sports and schools to promote mental health, skill-building, and foster growth in children. She is interested in mental health and has conducted action research with parents raising autistic children.
