Dr. Nikki Scott received her bachelor's in honors psychology from Wayne State University in 2014, her master's in social work from the University of Michigan in 2015, and her doctorate in social work from Capella University in 2020. She has been a social work professor since 2020; she began teaching at Eastern Michigan University. Dr. Scott also teaches social work at the bachelor's and master's levels at Oakland University and Cleveland State University. Dr. Scott became a contributing faculty for Walden University in 2024. Dr. Scott has taught and still teaches social work theory courses, human behavior in the social environment courses, social work practice with women and girls, death and dying, grief interventions, and an ethical dilemma course. Dr. Scott was a hospice social worker for 10 years before she left to start her own private practice. Currently, she works in her private practice, seeing clients virtually, where she specializes in grief and loss, maternal mental health, and trauma. Dr. Scott self-published her first book, Mama, Let's Talk About... All of It, in 2023, to support new mothers.
